District Governor

There are leaders and there are those who lead. Leaders hold a position of power. Those who lead inspire us. One such inspirational person is advocate-Rotarian N. Sundaravadivelu. A true son of the soil, he was born and raised in Coimbatore. Coincidentally, his ancestral home is home to the district secretariat too.

His interest in leadership began right from his college days. He was a student leader and a joint secretary of the Students' Union of PSG College of Arts and Science. His oratory skills won him various national awards for public speaking and debating. Inspired by his grandfather and father, and driven by his love for the nation and truth, he took the path to become a lawyer. Advocate N. Sundaravadivelu is a graduate of the first batch of the Coimbatore Law College. "My brothers and sisters, today we are in the crossroads of destiny."


Rotary Career
Many courtrooms across the country have reverberated with his baritone voice, bringing justice to his clients to serve the nation in the truest sense. He took on the responsibility of CBI public prosecutor for six years. He was destined to be a Rotarian. As a young lad, Sri N. Sundaravadivelu shadowed his grandfather, Sri T. T. Ratnasabapati Pillai, one of the founding charter members and past president of Rotary Club of Coimbatore, to Rotary meetings. This is where he imbibed the spirit of service above self. He's a founder of the Interact Club of Mani's High School, where he was once a student..

The founding team member of the Rotaract club of PSG CAS and the Rotaract club of Coimbatore Main. His leadership skills were observed by the illustrious Sriji Vardaraj, the then district Rotary governor, while he was the District Rotaract Representative. He represented the then district 320 as a GSE team member to Australia in 1987. Inspired by Sri M. K. Kupparaj of Ashoka Peetal Nut Company, he joined the Rotary Club of Coimbatore and served as its president from 1999 to 2000. He has donned multiple leadership roles across the past three decades. His spirit of giving back is reflected in his contribution of over 2.5 crores to the Rotary Arch Clump Society. Driven by a passion to bring change, he stood as an independent candidate in the 2019 parliamentary elections. His zeal for social causes is evidenced from a long list of service, including past president of the Coimbatore Bar Association, trustee of the Coimbatore Advocate Welfare Trust, president of human rights cell of Coimbatore District Bar Association. Sri N. Sundaravadivelu is also the director of Tenkuda, an NGO devoted towards social upliftment of society in which more than 50,000 families are involved.


Professional life
Anne Murgambal is a lawyer and his pillar of strength. The couple are blessed with a son and daughter. Their son, Praveen Ratnam, is a lawyer and has obtained his master's degree in law from the United Kingdom. He is married to Netra. Rotarian Sundaravadivelu's daughter, Preeti, is married to Mr. Vikram of Chennai. He is at his best in the company of his grandchildren, Dhyanav, Navya, and Parvati, a loving husband. A doting father and grandfather, a kind boss, an exceptional lawyer, a Rotarian power excellence, a fierce orator, a change agent, a thought leader, but above all that, a humble and kind human being.
